The project aims to broadcast national independent productions to be shown on TV.SPCOM.VC from 2024-2025.
With this, the project seeks to provide a qualified window for the dissemination of a large collection of audiovisual works that, currently, do not have space on open television stations. The project will provide millions of people with access to Culture and Tourism in the State, promoting tourist and business destinations for millions of Brazilians who have little knowledge of São Paulo’s potential.
With the arrival of 5G, all analogue systems (Open TV) and anyone with a C-band satellite dish will have their access blocked. Today there are more than 22 million people who only have this access to TV in Brazil. Open TV transmissions will necessarily switch to a digital band (KU Band) that is currently used by pay TV operators via Satellite.
All equipment – antennas and converters – must be replaced by equipment compatible with the KU band. In addition to these 22 million satellite dishes, another 10.3 million people registered in the single registration social programs will receive the equipment free of charge from operators that win the auction for 5G band frequencies, totaling more than 30 million homes.
